Nearly 50 children were treated to free holiday shopping on Saturday, Dec. 15, courtesy of the Cape Coral Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 33.
Dubbed the "holiday shopping trip," the annual event is all about giving and provides local children with gift cards valued at around $150 to purchase presents for their family members.
Members of the FOP Lodge 33 had the opportunity last month to grow their facial hair outside of the department's professional grooming standards to participate in "Movember."
Sergeant Paul Blanchard, and president of Cape Coral Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 33, said this was the first year they participated in "Movember.
Nearly 80 children were treated to free back-to-school shopping courtesy of the Cape Coral Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 33.
The event, held on August 3rd, allows officers to spend positive one-on-one time with Cape Coral children whose families are experiencing financial struggles and cannot afford to purchase needed school supplies
and clothing. This is the first annual event held by the organization which represents active and retired men and women of the Cape Coral Police Department.
