Members of the FOP Lodge 33 had the opportunity last month to grow their facial hair outside of the department's professional grooming standards to participate in "Movember."
Sergeant Paul Blanchard, and president of Cape Coral Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 33, said this was the first year they participated in "Movember."
"We convinced the chief to allow us to grow our facial hair outside the normal guidelines that are allowed," he said, adding that a $15 fee was thrown in to participate. "Some people handed their supervisor a $20 bill and didn't ask for change."
